Castle Cup - Hurling Winners of Division A!
Our boys had a fantastic day of hurling with some outstanding performances throughout the tournament.
In the group stages, they faced Lavey in a very tight match, narrowly losing by a goal with the last puck of the game. They bounced back brilliantly to beat Kilrea by 4 points, followed by an excellent 10-point win over Swatragh. In their final group match, they were defeated by Slaughtneil by 6 points.
These strong performances secured a well-deserved place in the semi-finals.
We met Lavey once again in a nail-biting contest that ended level at full-time. Showing incredible determination and passion, the boys pushed on in extra time to secure a 4-point victory and book their place in the Castle Cup A Hurling Final for the second year in a row, where they would face Kilrea.
The final was played in very challenging heat. With the game level at half-time, our lads delivered an outstanding second-half performance. Playing with immense pride in the school jersey, they went on to defeat Kilrea by 7 points.
This is an exceptional achievement for a small school like St Canice’s PS, Feeny. The boys have made their school, club and families incredibly proud.
A very special day for our school – what an achievement!
