Dear Parents/ Carers

We hope you have all had a lovely Christmas and we wish you a Happy New Year.

As you will all be aware Covid cases within the community are very high at present and we are faced with a very challenging month.  To enable us to keep our school community safe we would ask that anyone with Covid symptoms should NOT be sent to school and should be PCR tested. Even if a child has cold/ flu symptoms, consideration should be given to keeping your child off school as Covid symptoms can vary. As is always the case, if your child is unwell please do not send them to school.

It is very important that you inform the school if your child has tested positive by phoning the school or by e mailing info@stcanicesps.derry.ni.sch.uk

Please be aware that there is a possibility that we may experience staff shortages and therefore the possibility that class bubbles could move to remote learning for a short period of time if teacher absences cannot be covered. This may happen at very short notice and if this is the case a text will go out to the parents of that particular class bubble. We hope that this will not happen but to be prepared please ensure you can access your child’s Google Classroom. We very much hope this will not be the case and we will be doing our very best to keep all our children at school.

We very much appreciate your continued support and help.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Fiona McCann & Mrs Helen Rhodes
